Friday morning started out in a tragedy for one man after he was struck by a school bus in Independence, Missouri. Furthermore, the accident happened near Missouri 78 and Swope Drive when the bus loaded with students turned left onto the road, and hit an elderly man. Sadly, the unidentified man was bleeding from his injury, and also suffered head trauma as well. Although the man was able to sit up and speak to paramedics when they arrived, he was transported to a nearby hospital for observation.
Three children on board suffered bumps on their heads from the back of the seats from the crash. As a precaution, those children were transported to the hospital for evaluations. The remaining children in the bus were transported back to the school cafeteria to be further looked at for any injuries.
