Meyerkord & Kurth, LLC: A Legacy of Legal Innovation
A woman has filed suit against the man she claims struck her with his car. The woman from Alton, Illinois alleges that accident occurred on February 26, 2013 when she was walking south toward the entrance of an apartment complex. According to court documents, the male defendant allegedly backed his vehicle into the woman while attempting to back his vehicle out of a parking space. The woman filed suit in Madison County Circuit Court on May 30, 2014. As a result of the accident, the woman claims to have suffered right knee injuries, incurred medical expenses, was prevented from attending to her usual affairs and lost wages. The aggrieved woman claims the male driver is responsible for the accident because he negligently failed to maintain control of his vehicle, failed to keep a proper lookout to avoid the collision and failed to alert her of his intention to back up. The suit asks for more than $50,000 in additional to any other relief the court deems just.
