General Motors recently underwent an internal investigation regarding the faulty ignition switch that has been making headlines. Although GM knew about the ignition switch issue for ten years, the company is in hot water for only recently recalling vehicles. Several individuals have died as a result of the switch's design flaw. (The New York Times' recent article, linked above, has a helpful graphic in understanding the technical issue with the switches.) The recent investigation led to the dismissal of many top ranking officials at GM, however, many are still unsatisfied and are looking to the Department of Justice to remedy the many deaths caused by the switches.
