A Greyhound bus, on its way to New York City from St. Louis, collided with a vehicle on an eastern Indiana highway this past Sunday, killing one person and leaving 19 others injured. The incident occurred Sunday morning on Interstate 70 near Richmond, about 70 miles east of Indianapolis and 35 miles west of Dayton, Ohio. The vehicle that collided with the Greyhound bus, a Ford Mustang, was reportedly stolen and driving the wrong way. Twenty-four passengers were traveling on the bus, which was supposed to make a stop in Dayton, Ohio before reaching its last stop in New York City. Eighteen passengers were injured in the collision. Most of those passengers were treated for scrapes, cuts and bruises at a nearby hospital. The driver of the bus, however, sustained serious injuries and had to be airlifted to a hospital in Indianapolis. The driver of the stolen Mustang was killed in the accident. Following the accident, authorities closed down all lanes of the highway to clear the accident. The highway was opened about three hours later.
