A multi-vehicle accident near the Lake of the Ozarks left 4 dead and one injured. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred Wednesday July 23, 2014 on a bridge near the Lake of the Ozarks. The collision occurred when a tire popped on a dump truck a 56-year-old male from Warsaw, Missouri was driving on Highway 5 on the Niangua River Bridge north of Camdenton. The 56-year-old male lost control of the dump truck when it had a flat tire. After losing control, the dump truck crossed into the southbound lane before hitting a truck that was towing a boat. Traveling in the truck towing the boat were 4 family members from Benson, Illinois. Emergency personnel responded to the scene of the accident. The 56-year-old dump-truck driver and 3 of the 4 family members traveling in the truck towing a boat died at the scene of the accident. The 3 people inside the truck towing a boat who lost their lives were a 50-year-old wife and mother, a 46-year-old husband and father and a 14-year-old brother and child. The remaining passenger, a 14-year-old male, presumably the twin of the deceased 14-year-old child, was airlifted to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
