Meyerkord & Kurth, LLC: A Legacy of Legal Innovation
A woman recently filed a lawsuit against two doctors and their employers alleging the doctors failed to diagnose and treat her illness before she suffered from kidney failure. The suit was filed on March 26 in the Madison County Circuit Court against two doctors, the Family Physicians of Godfrey, and BJC Home Care Services. The plaintiff sought treatment from a male doctor between January 2012 and April 4, 2013, according to court documents. The complaint states that during that period of time, the plaintiff's condition became severe enough to require hospitalization at Alton Memorial Hospital. The suit goes on to say that the woman suffered from kidney failure. The plaintiff alleges that as a result of her condition and in addition to incurring medical costs, she suffered pain and permanent disability, lost her normal life and endured emotional distress. She places blame on the male doctor alleging that he negligently failed to diagnose her with her illness and failed to treat her medical condition. A female doctor and her employer are also named as defendants in the suit. The complaint alleges the female doctor negligently failed to observe the plaintiff's medical condition, failed to record the symptoms of her medical condition, failed to report the symptoms of her medical condition and failed to properly treat her medical condition. The female plaintiff is seeking more than $250,000 in addition to costs.
