72 Year-old Woman Killed in Accident Involving Dump Truck
The family of a 72 year-old woman has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in the woman's death. The woman died when a dump truck driver stopped at a stop sign and then attempted to make a left hand turn. The woman saw the dump truck pulling out in front of her, and she swerved to miss the truck. Yet, the victim was unsuccessful in missing the dump truck. She died as a result of the accident. The driver of the truck was charged as a result of the accident. This victim was not alone in her vehicle. Her daughter and son in law were with her in the vehicle. According to the suit, the woman's daughter watcher the woman die while waiting for help, and the victim's son in law watched his mother in law die and his wife suffer after the accident.
It appears the driver of the truck failed to keep a look out when making his left hand turn. This is a common error while driving. The law in Missouri requires drivers to use the highest degree of care when operating a motor vehicle. Failing to keep a lookout when making a turn, falls below this standard.
