Mattresses Recalled for Fire Hazard
Posted By Meyerkord & Meyerkord, LLC
Superior Importers has
recalled around 6,000 mattresses due to a violation of the Federal Mattress Flammability
Standard. Consumers are urged to stop using the mattress immediately and
contact the company directly. They will supply a free mattress cover to
become compliant with the federal standard. The mattresses were sold May
2016 through May 2017 between $50 and $150 on Amazon.com. The recalled
mattresses include the basic 6-inch and Basic 8-inch models which are
twin, full, queen and king sizes. They are ivory with tan and gray and
include a tag that reads, “made For: Superior Importers company,
502 Jersey Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901”.
Thousands are affected each year by defective products and this puts consumers
at risk for serious injuries. Companies are responsible for designing,
manufacturing, and selling products that are reliable and safe for consumers.
However, consumers must do their part too. Always contact a company if
you notice that their product has a defect. This will help the company
alert other consumers of potential danger if they know of the problem.
You should also contact a product liability attorney if you are injured
by a product. Companies may be held liable for any injuries their products
cause. An experienced attorney will be able to determine if you have grounds
to pursue legal action for your injuries.
