Six-Year-old Girl Dies In Pedestrian Accident

|

A 6-year-old girl was struck and killed in a tragic pedestrian accident in North Carolina. According to authorities, the child was hit by a vehicle traveling on U.S. 70 in Black Mountain on Friday. Officials say the child had special needs and ran from her mother in a parking lot at the Goodwill store in Black Mountain. The mother was unable to catch her before she ran into oncoming traffic and was struck. Witnesses say the mother tripped and fell as she was running after the child. The child was taken to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries sustained in the accident. Police are still investigation the accident but do not believe alcohol or speed were factors in the pedestrian accident.
