Baby Struck in Connecticut Pedestrian Accident
Posted By Meyerkord & Meyerkord, LLC
A 2-and-a-half-year-old girl was rushed to a hospital in New Haven, Connecticut
after a driver struck the stroller she was in. Authorities reported that
the baby was thrown from the stroller and landed on the pavement after
her mother stepped into the street. The baby was raced to a local hospital
where she was listed in critical but stable condition. Luckily, there
were no serious injuries but will remain in the hospital for observation.
Police said the crash was under investigation and have not uncovered any
information that the car or driver was operating recklessly. They will
continue to look and determine if the mother and baby were in the crosswalk.
Pedestrian accidents, especially involving children, are frightening. Each year over 65,000
people are injured in pedestrian accidents. These injuries can be minor
to severe, resulting in thousands of people seeking medical care. These
expenses can add up especially if your injuries require you to stay at
the hospital. This can mean the victim is responsible for thousands of
dollars in medical bills alone. This doesn’t account for any type
of physical or mental therapy, rehabilitation, lost time and wages from
work, and any spousal support if they need time off of work to care for
you. Contact a skilled personal injury attorney if you are involved and
injured in an accident. An attorney will determine if you have grounds
to pursue legal action for compensation for your injuries.
