Vaping Battery Explodes In Woman's Purse

|

Video footage released shows a dangerous product exploding in a woman’s purse. According to a New Jersey woman, the battery to her vaping device exploded inside her purse while she was shopping near Old Bridge. Video footage taken by security cameras in the store show a woman’s purse bursting into flames.

The incident happened this past Sunday at the Freehold mall and was all caught on the store’s surveillance camera. The woman was checking out inside the Sunglass Hut when something inside her purse exploded. The footage shows thick black smoke pouring out of the woman’s bag.

According to the woman, she had the battery in a pocket by itself, and it apparently exploded, charring everything inside and almost causing serious injury to her. The battery explosion took place on September 11, and the woman claims the unfortunate incident scared her and those around.

The woman hoped her story serves as a warning to others about the potential dangers of batteries. The woman claims she is working with the manufacturer of the battery and the store who sold it to her. She is relieved no one was hurt and feels that she narrowly escaped a more dangerous situation. There have been no attempts to retrieve a statement from the manufacturer because the exact brand of battery that the woman was using has not been released.
