|

Four people are dead after a devastating head-on collision crash in Clarksville, Tennessee this week. The Tennessee Department of Transportation stated the crash occurred on Wednesday, just after 4 p.m. on Ashland City Road.

According to the TDOT, a 58-year-old man driving a pickup truck lost control of his vehicle and hit an SUV head-on. The SUV then collide with a third vehicle before bursting into flames. Three people were inside the SUV, and all were killed in the crash. Police identified the Tennessee victims as a 31-year-old male, a 52-year-old female, and a 22-year-old female. The driver of the pickup truck was also killed in the crash. Police say the driver of the third vehicle that was hit by the SUV refused medical treatment.

The TDOT says speed was a major factor in the fiery crash. The investigation will continue, and police are asking anyone with information to please contact the CrimeStoppers at 931-645-TIPS. Ashland City Road was closed for several hours while police worked the scene and cleared away the wreckage.
