Two Pedestrian Accidents In Kentucky

One man is dead, and another is in critical condition after two
pedestrian accidents in Louisville. Last Friday, a pedestrian was hit by an SUV while crossing
Broadway. According to Louisville Metro Police, the man was crossing Broadway
between First and Second streets around 6:30 a.m. with a friend when a
driver struck him. Authorities say the driver of the SUV drove to another
location and then called for help. Police say the man was hit at a non-crosswalk
location and was caught on top of the car for about a block before he
fell to the ground. The man was taken to the hospital where he died days
later from his injuries. The accident is still under investigation, and
it is unclear if the driver of the SUV was speeding.
Days later, a man was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident in the
2200 block of Dixie Highway. Police are looking for the hit-and-run driver
that left the pedestrian for dead. According to Louisville Metro Police,
the 25-year-old man was said to be riding his bike home from an election
watch party on Oak Street. Early in the morning around 5:30 a.m., the
unresponsive man was found near Hill Street Missionary Baptist Church.
No one saw the accident and the pedestrian was not in possession of a
bike. His family is searching for answers. The man is recovering in the
hospital, and family members say he has severe swelling due to a fractured
skull. Police are asking anyone with information about the accident to
please call the department.
