A serious pedestrian accident occurred today when a St. Louis man was struck by an SUV in the parking lot of a Maplewood gas station. According to St. Louis police, shortly after 6 a.m., a man in his 50’s exited a QuikTrip on Big Bend and Manchester and as he was entering his vehicle, a driver of a silver SUV, lost control and struck the side of the vehicle, crushing the man. The SUV driver was a woman, described as in her late 20’s, and was taken into police custody at the scene of the accident. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital for medical treatment for serious but non-life threatening injuries. The accident is still being investigated.
