A Missouri mother was killed in a mysterious auto accident near Lonedell. A 69-year-old Gray Summit woman was driving her SUV near Highway 30 and Highway N when around 3:00 p.m., something caused her vehicle to leave the road. Authorities say her vehicle went airborne and crashed into four trees. The SUV had five passengers, including a mother and her four children. Two children, an 8-year-old and an 11-year-old, suffered severe injuries and were airlifted to local hospitals. The other two children, a 6-year-old boy, and a 4-year-old girl, were transported by ambulance for medical treatment along with the driver of the vehicle. The mother, a 29-year-old St. Clair woman, was tragically killed. The accident is still under investigation as police try to put together what cause the driver to lose control and if there might have been another vehicle involved.
