Illinois Teen Killed in Car Crash

|

A single-vehicle car accident resulted in the death of an Illinois teen in Jersey County. According to the Illinois State Police, an 18-year-old male was operating a 2004 Nissan on Range Line when he drove off the roadway and landed in a field. During the crash, the driver was partially ejected from the car and he was taken to the hospital by medical helicopter. Tragically, the teen died as a result of his injuries and the accident is being investigated.

Teen drivers cause more auto accidents than any other age group. The majority of auto accidents caused by drivers aged 16 to 19 are often caused by mistakes related to inexperienced driving. Distracted driving, speeding, and driving under the influence are also common factors in teen auto accidents. It is tragic that auto accidents are one of the main causes of deaths amongst teens and the majority of these accidents are preventable. The families of individuals killed in auto accidents should seek a legal consultation to determine the actual cause of the accident. If another party’s negligence was to blame for the crash, you could be entitled to compensation for medical bills, funeral costs, loss of economic support, and emotional trauma.
