Boating Accident Claims Life of Marine

|

On Saturday morning, a United States Marine was killed in a boating accident. The accident occurred off the coast of Hawaii near the Kaneohe Marine Corps Base. According to the Marine Corps spokesman, three men were in a boat when it capsized. Two of the marines were able to swim back to shore, but tragically one man did not return and authorities located his body 30 feet below the waters surface at around 8:25 a.m. The accident is being investigated and the victim’s identity will be released once next of kin is notified.

There are numerous types of auto accidents including motorcycle crashes, car accidents, ATV accidents, and boating accidents. While all auto accidents can be severe and cause harm unto individuals, boating accidents are often overlooked as one of the serious types of auto accidents. Boating accidents occur mostly during the summer months because there is an increased number of boats on waterways. Tragically, many boaters display negligence by operating their watercraft under the influence of drugs or alcohol, while distracted, and aggressively.
