Disney World Makes New Safety Regulations

|

After the tragic accident earlier this month involving the Nebraska toddler who was killed by an alligator in Orlando, Walt Disney World is placing new limits on fishing at the park. According to the Orlando Sentinel newspaper, new signs read no fishing have been placed in areas such as the Saratoga Springs Resort, the Fort Wilderness campground, and the Old Key West Resort after the deadly accident. Fishing at Disney World will now be limited to visitor excursions only. A spokesperson from Walt Disney World confirmed that netting has been applied to the rope fences that were installed on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon. Other changes have also been made following the death of the 2-year-old boy, including staffing at hotel beaches and after dark curfews on the shores of Disney’s property. Walt Disney World has beach property at eight hotels as well as the Fort Wilderness campground.
