A Kansas toddler was killed in a terrible pedestrian accident in Olathe on Wednesday. According to the Olathe Police Department, a 14-month-old girl was struck by a pickup truck in the 13800 block of South Seminole Drive at approximately 4:35 p.m. The child was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. Police say a 54-year-old driver stayed on scene and cooperated with investigators. The Kansas home where the accident took place is listed as a licensed daycare in the state. Neighbors speak highly of the family, saying the longtime residents are very cautious with children and the family even placed a sign in their front yard reminding drivers to go slow. Neighbors describe the scene as terrible and very scary. According to Police, the case is still under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline.
