|

A Tennessee motorcyclist is dead after a tragic head-on collision in Cross Plains. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Thursday on Highway 76. Authorities say the motorcyclist was not at fault and could do nothing to avoid the head-on collision when a vehicle crossed the centerline and struck him. A car veered across the center line on a slight curve of Highway 76 and sadly collided with the 40-year-old motorcyclist. According to witnesses, the man was pinned under the vehicle and died before emergency responders arrived. The 24-year-old driver of the vehicle that hit the motorcyclist has been charged with vehicular homicide. The driver underwent a drug and alcohol test and was found to be under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash. A witness describes the dreadful scene and claims the 24-year-old driver climbed out of his window and asked for her phone. She says he was crying and saying he was sorry repeatedly. The motorcycle accident is still under investigation.
