Woman Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident Near Fenton

|

A single-vehicle auto accident moderately injured a Fenton resident during the early hours of Saturday morning. At approximately 1:10 a.m., 45-year-old Lisa Smercina was operating a 1999 GMC Jimmy southbound along Romaine Creek Road when the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway. As the vehicle left the roadway, it struck an embankment constructed of rock between Fenton and Arnold. A private vehicle transported Smercina to the hospital and her current condition is unknown. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident and has not stated if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

When a single-vehicle car accident occurs, many individuals assume that they do not have grounds to file an auto accident claim. However, many factors are responsible for auto accidents including dangerous roadways, vehicle design flaws, mechanical defects, as well as reckless driving. Individuals sustaining damages in auto accidents should receive a full investigation even if the cause appears to be obvious. Injured individuals may have grounds to file a personal injury case if there are other parties responsible for the crash. In the event that the driver is fully liable for the accident, passengers have the right to file a claim as well. Consulting an experienced auto accident attorney is one of the most responsible decisions you can make when involved in an accident.
