One Dead, Three Injured in Tractor-Trailer/Ambulance Collision

|

A collision involving a tractor-trailer and an ambulance claimed the life of one individual and injured three others on Tuesday afternoon. The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. in Evans, New York. The Evans Fire Department responded to the crash on Route 20 and confirmed that an elderly man was killed in the accident. The three injured victims were transported by ambulances to hospitals and their condition is unknown. Authorities are investigating the accident and believe weather conditions could have been a factor in the crash.

Tractor-trailers are large vehicles that when involved in a collision can cause serious injuries, property damage, and death. These commercial vehicles can weigh around 80,000 pounds and the trailer itself is eight and a half feet in length. Truck driver’s have an enormous responsibility to handle such a large vehicle and avoid any type of accident. Tragically, tractor-trailer accidents occur often resulting in numerous injuries and deaths that are often preventable. Fatigued driving, driving under the influence, speeding, and distracted driving, are responsible for a vast majority of trucking accidents and the driver will likely face criminal charges. If you have been injured in a trucking accident, you may have the right to file a personal injury case to hold the driver and trucking company responsible for your damages.
