Workplace Accident Claims Life of Oklahoma Man

|

A workplace accident claimed the life of a man in Oklahoma City on Tuesday. The accident happened during the morning hours when the worker was operating a forklift and it overturned. The forklift landed on top of the man and he died from the injuries he suffered. The accident is being investigated and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will likely be involved.

Have you suffered an injury or lost a loved one in a workplace accident? If so, you are one of the thousands of individuals that will suffer work-related injuries this year alone. Fortunately, your rights as an injured worker are protected with worker’s compensation insurance. In Missouri, all companies with five or more employees are required to carry worker’s compensation insurance to provide benefits to those injured in the form of medical coverage and wage replacement. However, many workers find themselves struggling financially after a work-related injury because their wages are only replaced at a rate of 66.6% of their average weekly wage. To recover the maximum compensation available, it is imperative to consult an experienced worker’s compensation lawyer.
