Motorcycle Crash Kills One in Georgia

|

A man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Saturday night. The accident occurred when a 20-year-old woman was operating a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country when she rear-ended a 2004 Honda CRF Dirt Bike. The accident happened in Savannah, Georgia along Abercorn near I-100. The motorcycle was not equipped with headlights or taillights and authorities believe that could be a factor in the crash. The 48-year-old man operating the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Authorities are investigating the accident and it is unknown if charges will be issued.

All drivers that choose to operate a motorcycle are required to obtain a motorcycle driver’s license. During their courses, motorcyclists are educated on the risks associated with operating the vehicle. The size of the motorcycle is obviously smaller compared to passenger vehicles and commercial trucks causing the chances of being involved in a traffic crash to be great. The impact of a motorcycle accident often results in serious injuries and death, and nearly all auto accidents could have been prevented. Negligent driving, dangerous roadways, and vehicle design flaws can all contribute to a motorcycle accident. To determine who is liable for your accident, it is imperative to consult a well-seasoned accident attorney.
