Mars Recalls Candy Bars After Plastic Found in Snickers

|

The food company Mars has issued a recall after a piece of plastic was found lodged in a Snickers candy bar. The plastic piece was linked to the Veghel, Netherlands plant and the recall is for Snickers, Milky Ways, Mars, Celebrations and Mini Mix labeled “Mars Netherlands” on the packaging. The recall is estimated to cost the company tens of millions of dollars. Mars is one of the world’s largest food manufacturers and Forbes reported that in 2015 they had $33 billion in sales.

Thousands of individuals are treated in emergency rooms and hospitals after suffering injuries or illnesses due to a dangerous or defective product.
