A popular crossbow company has recalled six different models of crossbows due to injury hazards. Barnett Outdoors is recalling the crossbows due to a sensor malfunction that can cause the crossbow to fire unexpectedly which poses a hazard to the user and any bystanders. This recall affects around 3,300 crossbows that are identified by model numbers which are printed on the riser limbs and dome labels located on the bow. The company said that they have received three reports of the crossbow firing unexpectedly which resulted in one hand laceration. These crossbows were sold at Bass Pro Shops, Dicks Sporting Goods, Cabela’s and other dealers and retailers from April 2016 through November 2016 between $800 and $1600. The company recommends consumers should stop using the recalled crossbows and contact them directly for a replacement trigger with a nock sensor for free.
