Two Others Injured During Fatal Waterslide Accident

|

The 10-year-old boy who died at the Kansas waterpark on Sunday was not the only one injured in the accident. Two other passengers aboard the Verruckt suffered serious injuries when the raft overturned at the bottom of the world’s tallest waterslide. The Kansas Representative’s son was visiting the Schlitterbahn with his family. The 10-year-old boy was grouped with two adult females on the Verrückt’s raft at approximately 2:30 p.m. Exact details have not been released as to how the raft overturned, but all three were injured. The young boy died of a fatal neck injury. The other two woman suffered severe injuries. One of the women broke her jaw and the other broke a bone in her face and needed stitches in her eye. One of the women described it as the worst day in her life. The fatal accident is still under investigation. The park will reopen this week but the Verruckt will remain closed.
