Ford Issues Recall Due To Fuel Pump Defect

|

The Ford Company has issued a recall that will affect more than 91,000 vehicles in North America. The recall is due to a defect in the fuel pump that could stall some Ford vehicles. The Ford models included in the recall are the Taurus, the Lincoln MKS, and the MKT SUV’s. Ford Police Interceptor sedans will also be a part of the issued recall. The recall includes Ford vehicles with a 3.5-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engines and made between the years of 2013-2015.

According to the automaker, there has not been any crashes or injuries associated with the fuel pump defect. The recall states that the defect could cause certain cars to stall without warning while driving. All vehicle owners should seek a free replacement of the auto part because a stalling could cause a possible dangerous and even fatal crash.

To find out if your vehicle is included in the recall, visit Ford's safety recall page and enter your vehicle identification number. The Ford company also stated that owners will receive a replacement of the fuel injection pumps on some 2015-2016 Ford Transit in addition.

In another announcement, Ford said today that as part of a safety compliance recall, 23,000 2017 Ford Escape vehicles would receive an update for the power window software. According to the automaker, a risk of injury has been linked to the power window system’s closing force.
