A popular Iowa car dealer was arrested in St. Louis for
drunk driving this week. The Iowa man was arrested in Affton on suspicion of driving
drunk and police say he has a dangerous driving record. The suspect served
prison time for multiple drunk driving offenses in 2015. According to
Iowa court records, the man has been convicted of driving drunk and sentenced
to three years in prison. An Iowa judge is recorded saying that the man’s
horrific DUI record is the worst case he has ever seen. The Iowa man was
out on parole by March 2016 and was allowed to come to Missouri. On August
2, police arrest him for a DUI, and now his case will be seen by the St.
Louis County prosecutor.
His horrific driving past includes a crash on an Iowa freeway that left
a Camaro in flames and the driver seriously injured. Many St. Louis residents
want to know why the dangerous driver is allowed to be operating a vehicle
in the State of Missouri.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports an average of 28
deaths every day in the U.S. involving an impaired driver. That's
one death every 53 minutes due to driving while intoxicated. The CDC also
reports that this staggering number of fatalities cost over $44 billion
