Missouri Woman Charged for Fatal DUI Crash

|

Police have arrested a 67-year-old woman and charged her with involuntary manslaughter after she caused a fatal DUI accident. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the crash happened last week when the Mansfield woman rear-ended another vehicle on U.S. 60 in Marshfield. The impact forced the vehicle off the roadway, causing it to overturn. The 68-year-old driver was killed in the accident and the drunk driver refused treatment. Troopers reported that neither driver was wearing their seat belt. The woman is facing up to seven years in prison.

There are numerous statistics proving that drunk driving is extremely dangerous and claims the lives of thousands of people a year. Groups such as Mother’s Against Drunk Driving, strive to educate all individuals on the dangers of DUI to prevent auto accidents. Tragically, there are 28 people killed every day in the United States due to intoxicated drivers. There is no compensation that can ease the pain of experiencing the death of a loved one. However, if you lost a loved one in a DUI accident, you owe it to yourself and to your loved one to obtain justice. While insurance companies may offer you compensation, it is often much lower than victims deserve. Contacting an experienced auto accident attorney can help you in recovering the maximum compensation available.
