Missouri Man Killed in ATV Accident

|

Over the weekend, a Missouri man was killed in an ATV accident near Polo. On Saturday night, a 29-year-old man was operating an all-terrain vehicle, more commonly known as an ATV, when he lost control along a gravel road. As the ATV veered off the roadway, it overturned and collided with a fence and a tree in rural Caldwell County. A passenger, an unidentified 23-year-old, was injured in the crash. Tragically, the driver was deceased upon the arrival of emergency crews. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

ATV accidents are a common occurrence especially in the warmer months of the year. Many of these accidents are caused by speeding, inexperienced driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, and carelessness. However, dangerous roadways, mechanical defects, and vehicle design flaws can also cause preventable ATV accidents. Regardless of what people may believe caused an accident, a thorough investigation should always be conducted to ensure the proper cause and liability are established.
