One Injured After OR Semi Crash

|

One driver is fighting for their life following a head-on crash with a semi-truck. Furthermore, in Gaston, Oregon the driver of a BMW heading north on Highway 47 crossed the center line near Forest Grove, and hit the semi head on. Likewise, after the semi crash, 27-year-old, Sarah Riffel was airlifted to a nearby hospital where she has life-threatening injuries. After Riffel struck the semi, which was hauling corn, the truck then hit another car which was driven by 34-year-old, Joy Gephart. Luckily Gephart only suffered minor injuries in the semi crash.

The driver of the semi, 54-year-old, Richard Bessey was injured in thesemi accident but is expected to make a full recovery. Police closed the highway for more than five hours after the car crash as investigation crews worked to clean up spilled diesel fuel. In addition, police are asking for witnesses of the crash to come forward with information; police believe many people stopped and saw the car crash, but continued driving.
