Whole Foods Issues Recall For Salads

|

Whole Foods has issued another recall for some of their food products. Curry Chicken Salad and Classic Deli Pasta Salad have been recalled due to possible Listeria contamination. The recall affects consumers in the northeast part of the country, including Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island. The recall is voluntary after a routine sample indicated Listeria Monocytogenes present in the product. Listeria can cause illness that can be serious in individuals with weakened immune systems. Whole Foods is encouraging all their customers to review the products for a sell by date of October 23, 2015. Just a couple weeks ago, Whole Foods recalled cheese for also being contaminated with Listeria.

Millions of consumer products are recalled every year due to the risk of injuries, illnesses, and death. While recalls are issued to prevent such damages from occurring, they are typically issued after a consumer has been harmed. All manufacturers are required under product liability laws to produce and distribute a safe product that will not harm any consumer. In the event that a manufacturer fails to adequately warn consumers of the dangers, or produces a defective product, the company could be held accountable by filing a product liability case.

The experienced St. Louis product liability attorneys at Meyerkord & Kurth have handled numerous dangerous product cases.
