Motorcycle Accident Results in One Injury, One Fatality

|

A motorcycle accident that happened on Friday morning claimed the life of one individual and seriously injured another. The accident happened in Buellton, California when a driver of a Chevy Impala had slowed on Highway 1 and a motorcyclist struck the rear of the vehicle. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be ejected from the vehicle, and the 22-year-old man died at the scene of the accident. Another motorcyclist, 21-year-old Jaime Jimenez was operating a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle when he approached the accident and attempted to avoid the debris. Jimenez lost control of the motorcycle and collided with the median. He was transported to the hospital for serious injuries. The southbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours while authorities reconstructed the accident. The investigation is ongoing.

Motorcycle accidents often result in serious injuries and fatalities. The causes of motorcycle accidents are similar to those of an auto accident, and unfortunately, a large portion of the accidents are preventable. Motorcyclists have the reputation of operating the vehicle recklessly and are often guilty of speeding. However, most motorcycle accidents are caused by the negligent actions of other motorists. If you have been injured or lost a loved one in a motorcycle accident, it is important to receive a full investigation to determine if you have grounds to file a case.
