A truck accident that happened in Kansas City, Kansas on Friday night has claimed the life of the driver. According to the Kansas City Police, a man was operating an International utility truck when he lost control at Leavenworth Road and 110th Street. As the driver was traveling southbound on Leavenworth, he lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons, overturned, and came to rest in a ditch. The driver was trapped underneath the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Authorities will not release the victim’s identity until next of kin are notified, and they are continuing to investigate the accident.

Truck accidents can occur for several reasons, and some of the most common causes are improperly loaded cargo, defective devices, and negligent driving. Over the past several years, lawmakers have created and enforced laws prohibiting truck drivers from operating their vehicle more than a specific number of hours. Unfortunately, several drivers and companies ignore these regulations to increase profit. Fatigued driving has been the cause of numerous truck accidents that could have been prevented. Any negligent party responsible for an accident should be held accountable for their actions.
