Motorcycle Accident Kills Passenger

|

A motorcycle accident in Florida claimed the life of a female rider on Monday. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a motorcycle operated by 59-year-old Michael Faby was traveling along State Road 520 westbound with 64-year-old Linda Lockhart as a passenger on the bike. The motorcycle collided with a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Tiffany Esser when she attempted to make a left turn from Satellite Boulevard. The impact of the crash ejected both Faby and Esser from the motorcycle resulting in Lockhart’s death. Faby was transported by ambulance to the hospital and is listed in critical condition. Authorities are continuing to investigate the accident and do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.

Individuals that choose to operate a motorcycle as a means of travel or for recreational purposes are at a higher risk of sustaining a serious injury or fatality in the event of an auto accident. The openness of the bike is what attracts most people to the motorcycles. However, this is also the reason a collision can be severe. Passenger vehicles offer somewhat of a layer of protection due to the vehicles being enclosed. While motorcycle accidents sometimes occur due to the recklessness of the motorcyclist, they are more commonly caused by distracted and inattentive drivers of passenger vehicles. If you have been injured or lost a loved one in a motorcycle accident, you may have grounds to file a motorcycle accident case.
