Car Accident Kills 12-Year-Old Boy

A 12-year-old boy was killed in a car accident that happened on Friday. The auto accident happened in Columbia, South Carolina when two vehicles collided. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 1993 Honda Civic was traveling on Highway 378 westbound when the driver attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Lower Richland Avenue. A 1994 Ford Explorer struck the Honda, and the impact caused the boy to be ejected from the vehicle. The boy, Naquan Nasier Cornish-Smith, and the two drivers were transported to hospitals for their injuries sustained in the crash. Cornish-Smith succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital. The accident is under investigation.
