Three Children Injured in Florida Semi Crash

|

Three children ages, 5, 6, and 9, as well as two adults, were injured Wednesday in a semi crash. Furthermore, the accident happened in Westside, Florida when their vehicle sideswiped a semi and ripped off their car’s door. Sadly, all three of the children were not wearing seatbelts.

25-year-old, David Huot was driving the children, with 61-year-old, Robert Stanley in the passenger seat when the accident took place on Winding Mare Boulevard. Due to unknown reasons Huot’s vehicle crossed the centerline and struck the left rear wheels of the semi truck’s trailer. As a result, Huot’s vehicle lost the driver’s side fenders and doors while jamming sheet metal into the truck’s trailer wheel.

The 6-year-old girl that was sitting in the left rear seat was ejected from the vehicle upon impact. She is now still in the hospital in critical condition. Luckily none of the other passengers or drivers suffered life-threatening injuries. Police are still investigating how the accident happened, and why one adult and not any children were wearing seatbelts.
