Five injured in Ohio vehicle crash

|

Five people were injured Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash that happened on Ohio 100. The crash happened early in the morning when 56-year-old, Brian Huffman was turning onto 100 from a private drive heading east when he was struck by 43-year-old, Keith Walker. The impact took place near the Whirlpool Corporation warehouse when Walker’s vehicle struck Huffman’s; Huffman was hauling washers and dryers at the time.

As a result, Walker and all of his five occupants were injured in the accident. The injured occupants include Dawn Smith, Keith Wood, Corey Layne, and Marvin Brown. Furthermore, everyone in Walker’s vehicle had to be removed by the Jaws of Life and then transported to close hospitals. Luckily Huffman was not injured in the crash. Police believe that heavy fog throughout the area contributed to the crash when Walker failed to yield to the right of way.

The fog was so heavy at the time of the crash that medical helicopters were unable to fly to the accident scene to transport the injured. There is an ongoing investigation into the crash, and toxicology results are pending. It was found that Walker and his occupants’ just finishing fishing when the crash happened.
