Tragically two children and their grandfather died Sunday after a horrible and preventable accident that happened Sunday afternoon. What started out as a stroll in a wagon on the shoulder of the road suddenly turned into a tragedy. In addition, a group of people was walking on the side of Weaver Road in Florence, Kentucky when a 22-year-old woman veered off the road and struck them. Likewise, two adult pedestrians were pulling a wagon with three children inside.
Sadly, one of the adults was 49-year-old, Charles Napier died at the accident scene. Even more horrifically, two twin 13-month-old twins were in the wagon, and were killed when the car struck them. A third child was also in the wagon, but only suffered minor injuries, and will survive the crash. The other adult that was pulling the wagon and struck was Susan Elam who suffered minor injuries, and is expected to survive as well. The reason the woman ran off the road is unknown and is currently under investigation.
