One man in Roseville, Minnesota is lucky to be alive following a near fatal accident involving a semi. In addition, the accident happened Tuesday on Highway 36 and Snelling Avenue when a large chunk of ice blew off a semi, and came crashing into the driver's window. The man in the vehicle was driving westbound in the far right lane when the ice hit his windshield.
Luckily, although it caused major damage to his window, he was able to safely pull off the road near the Snelling Avenue ramp before another accident happened. The driver of the vehicle only suffered minor injuries. The driver of the semi did not stop, and it is unclear if they knew the ice had flown off. The Minnesota State Police remind drivers that it's illegal to drive with material that could blow off and hit other vehicles. In addition, it is best to always keep a safe distance between yourself and large vehicles.
