Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

|

A one-vehicle accident occurred at about 5:00 p.m. on Saturday in Vermont. While driving on Vermont 30, Megan E. Baker’s vehicle veered off of the road. Afterwards, her car crashed in a causeway and continued south before crashing into a tree stump and stopping at another causeway on its side. Tragically, Baker passed away as a result of the accident.

A driver’s vehicle leaving the road is a common cause of accidents. To prevent your vehicle from leaving the road, pay close attention to your surroundings and be fully aware of the road lines. When a driver is unaware of their surroundings, they are more prone to drive off of the road. In addition, a factor that can cause a vehicle to leave the road is dangerous road conditions. For example, if the road is wet, then there is a greater chance of a vehicle hydroplaning. Hydroplaning is when traction is lost between a vehicle’s tires and the road, which can cause for a vehicle to slip off of the roadway.
