Pedestrian Struck Three Times

|

A pedestrian was struck by three separate vehicles while walking along a roadway in Michigan on Thursday. As a 16-year-old male was driving to school on Gratiot southbound he struck 45-year-old Junious Jones at approximately 6:30 a.m. According to authorities, Jones was walking in the middle turn lane and the impact of the collision threw him into the northbound lanes where he was hit two more times. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Police reported that all three drivers stopped at the scene and are cooperating with the investigation. There should be no citations issued in the accident and investigators believe that the lack of lighting along that stretch of roadway led to the tragic accident.

Pedestrians and bicyclists are at risk of being injured or killed in a traffic accident due to the size versus an automobile. Drivers should devote all of their attention to their surroundings and the roadways to avoid any auto accident, especially one with a pedestrian. Pedestrians could be responsible for their accidents, but more often, pedestrian accidents are caused by the negligence of other drivers. Distracted driving, fatigued driving, and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol are typically to blame. To hold a driver accountable for the pain and suffering you’ve endured, it is imperative to consult an experienced St. Louis pedestrian accident attorney.
