Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident

|

The negligent actions of a motorcyclist led to his death on Sunday afternoon. The motorcycle accident happened in Louisville, Kentucky around 2:30 p.m. According to the Metro police, 30-year-old Christopher Nelson was traveling on South Watterson Trail when he crossed into the opposite lane and collided with a Ford Fusion near the 7100 block. Nelson was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The coroner stated that Nelson was wearing his helmet, but the impact was too severe.

A collision involving any motor vehicle and a motorcycle is often devastating. Motorcycles offer little protection to riders and their chances of injury or death are greater, compared to an occupant of a passenger vehicle, in the event of a crash. Motorcyclists typically operate their vehicle defensively, but can make a driving error that results in an accident. Dangerous roadways, the negligence of other drivers, and mechanical defects can also lead to a motorcycle accident. If you have been injured in a motorcycle accident, you should exercise your right to seek the legal guidance of an accident attorney.
