|

A contamination of Listeria has prompted another pet food recall from Stella and Chewy, a pet food manufacturer. There are 990 cases of raw dog and cat food being recalled after Listeria was discovered. In July, a testing sample also confirmed the presence of Listeria and Stella and Chewy recalled their chicken dinner patties. The company is based out of Oak Creek, Wisconsin and has stated that they are working to locate the source of the contamination. Individuals that are at risk of becoming ill due to Listeria include children, elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Healthy people may also become ill, however, they will experience short-term effects. The products recalled are 4 lb. and 8.5 oz. frozen beef dinner morsels for dogs, frozen duck dinner morsels for cats, and 1.25 lb. frozen chicken dinners for cats. Anyone in possession of the recalled items should return them to the place of purchase to receive a refund.
