Hit and Run Driver Arrested

A driver responsible for a hit and run accident has been arrested. The accident happened during the early hours of Sunday when a St. Louis County police officer was traveling in his squad car when he was struck by another vehicle at around 4:45 a.m. The accident occurred in the intersection of Mackenzie Road and Gravois Road, and the driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the accident. Later in the day, police located the driver and he was arrested. The officer, from the Affton Southwest Precinct, sustained injuries to his head and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Authorities are continuing to investigate the accident.
