Dog Bites Man's Face

|

A man in Fort Walton Beach, Florida suffered serious injuries after a dog attacked him on Monday. Authorities are not certain of the details of the incident but believe that the victim was visiting the home in which the dog, a pit bull mix, lives. The dog, named Cooper, is up to date on his shots and is not being confiscated by police. The Panhandle Animal Welfare Society and authorities are investigating the incident before making any decisions regarding the animal. The victim suffered multiple bite wounds to his face and was going to be airlifted to the hospital, but bad weather prevented it. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital and has since been treated and released. The investigation is ongoing.

Dog bites are a very traumatic event that can lead to serious emotional damages, along with the physical injuries that are sustained. State laws require dog owners to keep their pets restrained to prevent an attack from occurring. In the event of a dog attack, the dog’s owner could be held responsible under premises liability laws. These laws require that all property owners, and dog owners, maintain their premises to prevent an injury, illness, or death from happening. Consulting an experienced St. Louis premises liability attorney is imperative to recover compensation for your physical, emotional, and financial damages.
