Worker's Scalp Detached in Workplace Accident

Worker's Scalp Detached in Workplace Accident
|

A woman from Texas is lucky to be alive after being injured in a horrific workplace accident. On June 24th, 34-year-old Reyna Gonzalez was working at a recycling facility in Dallas when her hair was caught in a conveyor belt. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail and as the machine grabbed her hair, it pulled her entire body backwards. Gonzalez was able to pull herself away from the conveyor belt, and it ripped 70 percent of her scalp away from her head. She laid on the ground touching her head and claimed she felt only her skull. Gonzalez also stated that she remembers witnessing her co-workers staring at her disgusted and in disbelief. She was transported to the hospital where she had surgery to reattach her scalp. The operating doctor is pleased with her progress and believes she will make a full recovery.
