St. Louis Carriage Accident, Second in Two Weeks

|

Four individuals sustained injuries on Wednesday night in a carriage accident. The accident happened in downtown St. Louis near Busch Stadium at approximately 11 p.m. The horse-drawn carriage was transporting six passengers when it was struck by an SUV at 7th Street and Lebanon Drive. The carriage had stopped at a red light, the light turned green, and as the driver attempted to move the carriage, the SUV rear-ended it, according to Koryn Peters the carriage driver. Peters was thrown onto the ground, as well as the passengers who all sustained minor injuries. The horse was uninjured in the accident. St. Louis police are releasing little information regarding the crash, including the identity of the driver of the SUV or if citations were issued. Two weeks ago on August 7th a van collided with a horse-drawn carriage and fled the scene of the accident that was also downtown. Fortunately, police located and arrested the driver a not far from the scene.
