Zofran makers facing lawsuits

|

Zofran is an anti-nausea drug used to help cancer patients receiving treatments, and those who have recently had surgery. Furthermore, the FDA has not approved the use of Zofran for pregnant women, but the makers, GlaxoSmithKline have marketed the drug as such. Sadly, many women who have been taking Zofran for morning sickness are giving birth to babies with various birth defects; cleft lip, cleft palate, and heart defects. Now, many of the families are suing the pharmaceutical giant for negligence.

GlaxoSmithKline have been receiving complaints about Zofran use during pregnancy since 1992, but has not done anything to rectify the situation. Likewise, during testing, Zofran was found to be unsafe for use during pregnancy because when tested on animals, the drug reached past the placental barrier.

If Zofran or any other drug has harmed you or a family member, the experienced St. Louis personal injury attorneys at Meyerkord & Kurth can help. We are currently representing families affected by Zofran use, and are skilled in handling such complex product negligence cases. Please contact us today for a free consultation.
